Michael,

This is no different from what units already require you to do.
Perhaps you aren't familiar or experienced with units.  I don't find
the "distant close paren" to be a significant problem, especially
since these definitions typically occupy a file all to themselves.

Bob McGrail is, of course, right to protest against "imperative"
syntax, a la Microsoft's Active Server Pages (and many others).
