Ultimately, we want to explore what mechanisms are best suited for ANTS protocols and applications, and write a nodeos package and JVM that best supports them. We hope that other applications with similar requirements will benefit from that, such as servlets. We will explore the applicability to protocols of a more concrete ``process'' model in Java, such as the ``Alta'' nested process model (http://www.cs.utah.edu/projects/flux/java/alta/). Such a process would include the resource controls mentioned or alluded to, as well as the capabilities needed to submultiplex resources, but would also provide features such as a separate name space.
