The Kahlert School of Computing offers the Kahlert Impact Prize to students who, whether through research or service, show a track record of success and a compelling story of the societal impact of their work.
Graduate student honorees receive a scholarship of $2,000 each.
Undergraduate student honorees receive a scholarship of up to $1,000.
Kahlert Impact Prize for Graduate Students
The Kahlert School of Computing at the University of Utah is proud to offer the Graduate Kahlert Impact Prize to our graduate students.
Applicants should have a compelling story of the societal impact of their work and a track record of success. The impact can be in research or in service. Two awards will be made and scholarships of $2,000 each will be provided to the winners, for use for Fall 2026.
All current graduate students in the Kahlert School of Computing are eligible.
Applicants should provide a 1-page impact statement and a recent CV.

Kahlert Impact Prize for Undergraduate Students
The Kahlert School of Computing at the University of Utah is proud to offer the Undergraduate Kahlert Impact Prize to our undergraduate students.
Applicants should have a compelling story of the societal impact of their work and a track record of success. The impact can be in community engagement, professional experience, service, or research. Scholarships of $1,000, $500, and $250 will be provided to the winners for use for Fall 2026.
All current undergraduate students (graduating Dec 2026 or later) in the Kahlert School of Computing are eligible.
Applicants should provide a 30–60 second video highlighting the impact of their work, and a recent CV.
