This file contains instructions on how to use the Mathematica 3.0 library folder "ISP" contained in the same folder as this file. --------------------------------------------------------------------- The structure of this folder should be: ISP Documentation English BrowserCategories.m ISPDoc.nb Blocks.m init.m Integ.m Newton.m --------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have write access to the Mathematica installation folder, you can install the ISP library by copying ISP into the Applications folder of the AddOns folder of the Mathematica installation folder. You will then be able to access the packages Blocks, Integ, and Newton as discussed in the text. If you pull down the Help menu and choose the "Rebuild Help Index..." option, you will then be able to access online documentation for the packages by clicking on the Add-ons radio button in the Help Browser. --------------------------------------------------------------------- If you do not have write access to the Mathematica installation folder, you can install the ISP library on a per-user basis by creating an AddOns folder in your per-user Mathematica configuration folder, creating an Applications folder inside the AddOns folder, and then copying ISP into the Applications folder. You will then be able to access the packages Blocks, Integ, and Newton as discussed in the text. You will not be able to access online documentation for the packages via the help browser, but you can load ISPDoc.nb just like any other notebook. The location of your per-user Mathematica configuration folder is different on different kinds of computers. Section 2.13.6 of the Mathematica book discusses this topic. Here is a summary: System Type Location Windows Mathematica\3.0 folder Macintosh Mathematica 3.0 folder in the System Folder Unix .Mathematica/3.0 subdirectory of each user's home directory NeXT Library/Mathematica/3.0 subdirectory of each user's home directory
