"Soda Hall Radiosity Solution" The image shows a highly precise fully converged radiosity solution of the sixth floor of the UC Berkeley Soda Hall building model. The initial database consists of 143097 surfaces, 98 point light sources and 65 emitting surfaces. The radiosity computation has been performed on a 64 processors SGI Origin2000 connected to a SGI InfiniteReality2 rendering pipeline, with the hardware accelerated parallel version of the Candela radiosity platform. The final solution presented here is composed of more than 1700000 finite elements and its convergence rate is of 99% (about 4000 shooting iterations). The textures are not displayed in order to highlight shadows and inter-reflections effects. Soda Hall building model courtesy of Carlo Sequin.
