Here, the irradiance volume is used, as well as a porcupine of 25 rays whenever the outerwalls are hit. These rays only search a certain distance out, and only contribute if they hit one of the two blocks (not another wall).
Framerates on these images are about 0.45 fps on 8 processors. This is very unoptimized, seeing as there's probably a few areas where this is just a quick hack to get this working.
This also shows the difference between hard & soft shadows... Ick!
