Trying to “fly” the MPI Kuka

Me in the KukaI am sitting in the Kuka robot in CYBERNEUM at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen, Germany.  The robot is set up for a 1-D (roll only) helicopter simulation, in which the object is to maintain a particular lateral position.  Accurate flight dynamics are supported.  A short video is available showing me failing at this task.  Aother video starts with a self-assesement of how well I am doing.

At the end of the self-assesment video clip, there is a claim that I would be much better if I returned at a later time without any intervening practice.  I in fact tried out the system two days later and was much better.  As you might expect, there are no videos documenting this improved performance.
