Siddharth (Sid) Patwardhan

I have recently graduated, and am now working as a Post-doctoral Researcher at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in Hawthorne, NY.

Research:

My research is primarily in the area of Natural Language Processing. Specifically, I develop methods to accurately identify specific events and associated information in free text. In my doctoral research I have explored several pattern-based and machine learning approaches for event-oriented Information Extraction. My other research interests include automatic analysis of opinions and subjectivity in text, Word Sense Disambiguation, and computational representations for Lexical Semantics. I am also interested in applications of this work in the biomedial domain.
