Research:

My research is primarily in the area of Natural Language Processing. Specifically, I develop methods to accurately identify specific events and associated information in free text. I'm working with Dr. Ellen Riloff on pattern-based approaches for event-oriented Information Extraction. My other research interests include automatic analysis of opinions and subjectivity in text, Word Sense Disambiguation, and computational representations for Lexical Semantics. I am also interested in applications of this work in the biomedial domain.

I am part of the NLP research group at the University of Utah. We meet regularly to discuss fun and interesting problems in the field of Natural Language Processing.
