A really good book (5 out of 5 stars in my opinion). Although it's slightly dated, the principles taught in this book remain the same.

I wrote an IR Tree DOT Graph Generator for visualizing IR trees using DOT Language (useful for debugging & the homework assignment). I've slightly renamed the packages from what the author, Andrew W. Appel, provided for my sanity but they are easily modified using an IDE like Eclipse (Organize Imports - CTRL-SHIFT-O).
In this class, the major project was:
(1 out of 5 stars) - This book was incorrect in several places and really glossed over a lot of important details. The chapter on Cryptography was very weak in my opinion. This book seemed to be focused more towards someone who'd be managing security professionals. I was looking for a more technical book. For a better book on security, I'd suggest the book above from my Advanced Networking course.
