Thin Lens Camera

This assignment's purpose was to use our recently built generic ray tracer to display images of a scene as viewed through a thin lens camera. This concept is similar to the the view that you would notice if you took a photograph of a scene. Blurred objects before and after the plane of perfect focus.

This first image is of three spheres, that shows my first attempt at this blurring affect. This also shows some interesting things that I did with shadows. I've placed the plane of perfect focus near the third, blue sphere. I also did about 16 samples per pixel on this one.

This second image is designed to show the proper blurring affects with lots of samples per pixel. I've placed the plane of perfect focus quite a ways in the distance beyond the scene, so we can see the affects of blurring on the different spheres.
