I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Computing at University of Utah since Aug 2011. I obtained my Ph.D in computer science from the Computer Science Department at Boston University in summer 2007, and was an Assitant Professor in the Computer Science Department at Florida State University from Aug 2007 to Aug 2011. A more detailed version about myself is here []. I am a member of the Data Group at Utah.

Research Interests

Query processing in both streaming and relational database systems. Processing, management and indexing of large-scale data in general (including distributed data management). Data processing in MapReduce. Modeling and querying probabilistic data. Data and query processing in spatio-temporal and multimedia databases. Security and privacy issues in large-scale data management. I am grateful to NSF for supporting my current research on database security issues, ranking and aggregate query processing in probabilistic data, and distributed data management system with potentially fuzzy and uncertain data.

My PhD thesis is about query and data security issues in the data outsoucing model, and you can get a copy here.
