Homework 8 - Path Trace a Participating Medium

The images below show the participating medium within an adapted cornell box. The first image shows several spheres of a bounded medium. The medium has a scatter rate that varies according to height from 1% to 5% and 0% absorbtion rate for each sphere. The following two images show the same uniform medium encompassing the environment. Here the scatter rate is 1% and, for the second image, the absorbtion rate is 0%, for the third image the absorbtion rate is 1%. The medium clearly modifies the scene (no pun intended) by adding a foggy element to the atmosphere within the box.
