Homework 10 - Path Trace Subsurface Scattering

This series of images show subsurface scattering. Subsurface scattering is implemented as a uniform participating medium bounded by some object wrapped by a refractive material. The first image shows the refractive bounding spheres, the second image shows the participating medium without the refractive wrapper. The third image shows the combination of the materials resulting in subsurface scattering. For these images, the index of refractivity is 1.05 and the scatter rate is 3%. The fourth image shows subsurface scattering with 5% scatter rate, trying to limit the amount of light that is allowed through the medium, restricting the amount of subsurface scattering.
