Maya: 3D Modeling and Rendering	Study of complex computer modeling and rendering techniques using Alias/Wavefront Maya. Students develop a practical knowledge of three dimensional object modeling and visualization as it applies to the arts. This is one of two courses using Maya that can be taken independently of each other.
A Bee Movie by: Joel Daniels and Kristi Potter
	Our short animation follows the adventures of a little bee. As he bounces through the room and through the fields one learns that, while it is good to enjoy life, without looking ahead you are bound to be consumed by trouble. The course taught the film-making pipeline, exposed us computer scientists (Kristi and I) to Maya and the other side of the tools we are learning to develop. My contributions include some characters (the Bee and Mr. Spidey) and some scenery (the web and the mushrooms). The movie sound track is a delicate rendition of Rimsky-Korsakov's 'Flight of the Bumble Bee'. Kristi has posted a flip book version of the movie.
