I took the train to Enschede monday night, and took exactly one picture during the four days of the conference. Most of the pictures here come from the utwente web site. The electric train was silent, with no sense of speed, however it was moving faster than cars on the expressway that ran parallel for a time, and railroad crossings flashed by.
The school has found space for numerous art installations while
keeping their ponds and woods: simply dump the art in the ponds. Here
we see the sunken village of Drienerlo, just outside the on-campus
hotel.[NOTES]
The tree-lined path from the hotel to the conference
auditorium.
A big, shiny, floaty thing in front of the math building, on
the way to the auditorium.[NOTES]
Another art installation in the lake in front of the math
building. This platform was designed to remain submerged except under
certain conditions. This picture was taken in 1975, and the Staakman
Island hasn't been seen since.[NOTES]
wget -rp to finish.
