People huddled around a TV outside the KaDeWe department store
during the Germany/US game on friday.
Wensday afternoon, the area around the Kaiser Willhelm Church
and Zoo Station became filled with people wearing turkish flags such
as this one. The crowd spilled out into the streets and scary looking
police where brought in to direct traffic. I didn't know it at the
time, but Turkey had just made the quarter-finals. I never heard salsa
music blaring out of a car before I came to Utah, and I never heard
Turkish music blaring out of a car before I visited Berlin.
All German police uniforms look vaguely like army uniforms, but
the crowd-control police are especially imposing.
