World 1 - The Sewers of Dross

Level 1

First thing you'll want to do after you fall into the sewers of Dross is to try running back up the left side of the pit you just fell down.  The blocks are slick, so you need to get a bit of momentum.  As you ascend, you'll find that three blocks come falling out of the wall, revealing the game's first secret.  After that, follow the tutorial-style directions on the screen to  through the level.
Almost at the end of this level, there is an elevator that takes you down.  At the bottom there are two blocks that look different from the rest.  Break them to find a secret.

Level 2

Begin making your way to the left and you will come upon (tada!) the first switch of the game.  Switches are pretty simple, just force them in a particular direction and something interesting will happen.  In this case, sit on the switch to make it go down and the door to the left will open for you.
When you get to the top of the hill, you'll notice a boulder.  The obvious thing to do is push it down the ramp ahead of you, but if you either push it hard enough to jump the gap at the bottom, or avoid pushing it entirely and body-slam the blocks at the bottom of the ramp, you'll find that there's a little secret in the pit.  Using this secret will make you miss the first bad-guy in the game, though.  Just drop into the gap and let yourself slide into the secret area.  After getting the booty from there, just continue to the right and slide down a little more.  You'll end up back on the regular game track.
Immediately after that, there's a lever-style pole that you can knock down.  However, if you choose to pull (or push) it toward the left instead of the right, you'll find another secret area.  When you're done there, return and make your way rightward toward the end of the level.

 Level 3

At the very beginning of this level, you drop into some nasty looking water.  You'll notice a couple of blocks at the bottom of the pool that are different from the rest.  Break them and find the secret beneath.

Spikes are the name of the game in this level, so move slowly to avoid making any lethal mistakes.  Some spikes at the left of this pit break under pressure, bringing you to a warp portal (in this case a block reminiscent of Super Mario Bros).  Break the block and enter the world of old school Nintendo.
The easiest way to get the amber beneath the platforms shown here is just to put enough pressure on the platforms that the ropes holding them up break.  They'll provide a buffer between you and the spikes.
Squish yourself into this corner and a secret will unveil itself above you and to the right.  The rest of the level's a cinch.

Level 4

Here's another spot where you can skip way ahead in the game.  Go down and to the left and use slick mode immediately when the level begins.  Press the Jump button to avoid getting squished.  If you do it right, you can squeeze through onto the gap before it closes.  You'll fall down a long tunnel that shows the various levels you're skipping, and then end up in one of the later levels of The Tombs of Duat.
If, however, you choose not to take this shortcut, by all means continue through the level until you see a big guy come out of here.  Go into the area he came out of and you'll find a secret area with an Extra Life!
As you approach this spot, hold down the Jump key to make sure you don't get hurt or killed when it unexpectedly springboards you through the roof.

You could just stick to this pendulum thing until it spits you through the blocks at the bottom... or you could jump to the other wall and find this secret area!  Unfortunately, it's more difficult to get back to where you need to be if you do this, because of the spikes below you.  The easiest way is to land on top of the pendulum when it's at the bottom point, go slick, and squeeze between it and the wall.  Or you could probably just avoid bumping the pendulum in the first place until you're ready to use it.

For the rest of the level you just need to use the tricks you already know: flipping switches, using blocks to push buttons, etc.

Level 5

Toward the beginning of this level there's what you might call an almost-secret area.  It doesn't count as an official secret area, but there are some pieces of amber up here.
Later, you'll find yourself in an expansive room.  Go to the bottom and make your way back to the left.  Press the button here with an enemy or a block and go back to the right to find another button you can press.  This will raise the big block in the middle of the floor.  Hitch a ride on this block up toward the ceiling and you'll find a secret area.  Then go through the hole left in the floor.
When you pop out the bottom, there's another secret directly to your right.

Later, there are a bunch of oddly-placed blocks.  I don't know if they have a purpose or significance, but if you go up and to the left you'll find a button.  I assume this button also has a purpose, although I haven't seen what happens if you don't push it.  Anyway, go down through the water and navigate your way until you come to...

... this teetering monument.  If you hit the blocks just right you can find another secret area to the right.  Then just muscle your way back out and go up toward the end of the level.

Level 6 - Boss

The guys at Chronic Logic can really come up with some creepy bosses.  These guys spit out small bad guys at you, and if you get too close they'll bite you hard.  Just smash down on top of them and you should be okay.  QED

Level 7

The last level on each world serves as a transition.  Usually it's pretty short and fast-paced, and by the time you finish the scenery has changed to the next world.  In this one you find what looks like a mining cart sitting next to a hill.  Just give the cart a shove and hop on, and you'll get most of the amber in this level.  Jump at the right moment (or have the patience to run back up the hill) and you can snag this extra life.
At the bottom of the hill there's a big pendulum thing you can ride safely toward the end ... or you could let yourself drop into the water at the bottom and get this secret before you leave the Sewers of Dross and enter ... The Forlorn Hollow.
