I don't know what the significance of the name is on this one, but the world in general is obviously emulating Hell.  There are many scary-looking objects like crooked nails and such that are merely part of the scenery--they won't hurt you.  The red "water" on this level is lava and will kill you almost immediately, so it is to be avoided.

Level 1

Move through this level as usual.  After a while you will come upon some rotating platforms above the lava.  You can get the amber beneath them by simply sticking to them while slightly off-center.  You'll need to use the direction keys to push yourself back into a safe position afterward.  Above one of the platforms, you will see a vertical tunnel.  Jump up to the ceiling and stick your way up the tunnel to find the first secret.
