Maps and Drawings of Hogan's Heroes' Stalag 13
These drawings, maps, and notes were made after many, many hours of
viewing the entire
series, perhaps six or seven times all the way through. Change after
change was made to make them as accurate as possible. Plus, as many
already know, filming on a television set is an inaccurate endeavor
from the outset. During the show, changes are occasionally even evident
in a particular set during the course of the same episode.
Therefore, although these drawings are indeed accurate, they may not be
perfect, and are not meant to conform to some actual standard. For
example, furniture placement in some of the drawings represents nominal
positioning as items were moving around all the time. However,
corrections are welcome.

Else:
This is used for the majority of Season One, 21 episodes total.
Only very slightly modifed from the original configuration, this
is used for the balance of Season One, eleven episodes. Klink's
desk moves over to the right side of his office, and the third
window (right wall) has been removed.
Used for all of Season Two (and two episodes of Season Three
which were filmed as part of second season, but aired later),
this configuration is again only very slightly modified from the
previous version: the closet alcove is reduced in its depth,
thus giving more separation between the main and closet doors.
The is the main configuration used for the bulk of the show,
104 episodes total. The main and closet doors are separated
yet further, the office is larger overall, and the ninety degree
corner between the near and right walls is modified to a 45°
angle. In Hilda's office, the fourth door is removed, and
her furniture is turned 90° counterclockwise, thus placing
her back to the left wall instead of the far wall.
Version 1 was used once, in episode #8, "Movies Are Your Best
Escape," and version 2 in two episodes, #19, "Hello Zolle," and
#26, "The Prince From the Phone Company." These are both
completely different from each other.
These were each used once, in #29, "The Assassin," and #30, "Cupid
Comes To Stalag 13," respectively. Again, these are completey
different than the preceeding versions. Version 3.1 represents
a slight change from v3 in that a kitchen was added at the door
in the far wall, and it utilizes the main door in the entry
vestibule.
This is the beginning of the larger, more standardized quarters
configurations. This one was used in five episodes during
Season Two.
Here's the second most used configuration, used in fourteen
episodes. This version best fits the external constraints of
the HQ building. The breezeway and adjoining room were dropped
from v4.
Version 5 was used in thirty episodes and is the really the
best of the bunch. Many major elements were carried over from
v4.1 like the living room, access hallway, kitchen, and bedroom,
but has a new entry vestibule and larger dining area. Because of
the changes, this configuration doesn't come close to being able
to fit within the HQ building as seen in the show.
This set was used nine times before they reverted back to v5 for
the balance of the show. It sports a second door at the back
wall for Klink's bedroom, which clutters up the overall
appearance. The right door along the back wall is presumably for
the kitchen, but this is never shown in any of the episodes, and
therefore it's impossible to properly render this version. They
simply don't show enough of it, and therefore it's not offered
here as a drawing—it's impossible to know what it really
looks like.
