Rocky Mountain Region
University of Utah Site
Nov 14-15, 2003
Site Information
The contest will be held in room 224 of the Engineering and Mining Classroom
Building (EMCB). Click on the University of
Utah map to see where we are on the campus. Zoom in on the large white
area near the top of the map. This is the parking lot just north of the
Merrill Engineering Building (MEB), which is the next building north of EMCB.
You can park in this lot free after hours on Friday and all day Saturday.
Directions
From the south: From I-15 northbound, take I-215 east. (Be careful of that
intersection. It's a bit tricky to get on the right road.) Follow I-215 east
and north until just before it bends back west to merge with I-80. At that
point, you should go straight and continue north on Foothill Blvd. At about
600 south, Foothill bends left (west) and heads downtown. Again, you should
continue north by exiting to the right onto the University of Utah campus.
You'll be on Wasatch Drive. Go straight through the first traffic light, and
then turn left (across the Trax railroad tracks) at the second light. When
you see the golf course on both sides of the street, watch for Federal Way on
your left. Follow that west for a block to Central Campus Drive, where
Federal Way ends. The Engineering Building is ahead of you, just to the right.
Go around to the north side of the building and park in the big lot.
From the north: From I-15 southbound, take the 600 North exit and go east for
less than a block. Turn right on 300 West and go south to North Temple. Turn
left there and go east to 1300 East. Turn right and go south 1 block to 100
South, then left and go east again up the hill into the campus. 100 North
bends left (north) for a short ways and then back right (east) around the
Engineering Building (MEB). Turn right into the north entrance of the parking
lot just after you start up the hill again.
Here's a blowup of
the campus map referenced above that shows just the area around MEB and EMCB.
