Answer
Perhaps the easiest way to visualize a three-dimensional array is as a cube
(or, more precisely, a rectangular solid). If a two-dimensional array is a
table with cells extending horizontally and vertically, a three-dimensional
array is a cube with cells extending in the backward direction as well. (Now
four dimensions---that's hard to visualize!)
