Answer

Once your number got large enough, it became too big to be represented by Fortran as an integer. Consequently, Fortran got confused and began regarding the number as garbage. However, there was no problem representing it as a real number. Continue enter numbers and see if you can make something that is too large even for a REAL number. (Hint: you may want to use scientific notation!)
