Level Sets Results

Here are the results of processing an MRI scan with this method.

These pictures confirm the properties intended by the algorithm, that contiguous, high curvature edges are preserved, while noisy curvatures spots are removed.

The renderings also show this interesting network of edges which changes in topological connectivity throughout the processing. That could give us ideas about new directions for mathematical analysis of this method. We view this as an example of volume rendering providing useful feedback in the design of image processing tools.
