Hello.

I'm going to be talking about a basic tool of visualization-- colormaps-- and how to create them. A lot of us have a sense of how to create colormaps using basic ideas from human color perception, but we assume that doing it right is too hard, because we don't have calibrated monitors.

This paper introduces a technique which makes it easy, with normal, uncalibrated monitors.
