Greg Jones received his bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of New Mexico in 1988. Dr. Jones also earned his doctoral degree from the University of New in the laboratory of Larry Sklar, Ph.D. During this time, Dr. Jones examined the physical conformation of the bacterial molecule known as lipopolysaccharide using steady-state and time-resolved optical fluorescence techniques. In between his bachelor's and doctorate, Dr. Jones was an optical engineer with CVI Laser Co. in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At CVI, Dr. Jones specialized in optical testing and optical instrument designed. Additionally, Dr. Jones was the manager of the optical fabrication department of CVI. During the span of 1997 to 1999 Dr. Jones was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Utah in the Department of Radiology where he was a member of the Functional Brain Imaging Group led by Jeff Lewine, Ph.D. During his post-doctoral fellowship, Dr. Jones researched the use of functional MRI and magnetoenchepalography in locating eloquent cortical regions. Dr. Jones then joined Storage Technology Inc. (StorageTek) as a principal consultant in the Medical Group. In his work at StorageTek Greg assisted in pre-sales support and served as the project manager for large-scale data archive installations in the medical field. In April of 2000 Dr. Jones joined the SCI Institute as the associate director. His current responsibilities with the SCI Institute revolve around the daily operations of the institute. Additionally, Dr. Jones assists in the submittal and maintenance of the various grants that support the institute.
