Adventures in Utah

Mount Timpanogos

Rachel and I went hiking up Mount Timpanogos. It is about thirty minutes from our dorm. There is a trail that goes up, and then there is a cave at the top of the trail. You have to buy a ticket to schedule a tour of the cave. Rachel and I nearly killed ourselves trying to get up there by our appointment time. We actually missed our tour time by about fifteen minutes. But the tour after ours had only one person, so we got to go on it. The chilly cave air felt so good after that long hike up. Rachel and I took a lot of pictures in the caves.

The picture to the right shows this formation growing on the walls that looks white but glows green when you put a light behind it.

My Office

It's under construction, and the lab is freezing. Except when the air conditioner broke down, and then it was 95 degrees.

Brain Scan

I got an MRI of my brain on July 4 as part of a research experiment. It looks normal.

Arches National Park

We saw three arches that I had already seen before. Then my friend got hurt, and we came home early.

SIGGRAPH 2002

SIGGRAPH, the big graphics conference, is coming up. I hope I have as much fun this year as I did last year. This year I am a student volunteer, so I will have less free time. However, my schedule is still packed with courses, papers, receptions, birds of a feather, and lots more.
