I'm almost embarrassed that I ever drew this one. It presents such a cynical view of marriage, doubtlessly a reflection of my teenage immaturity. My own parents' marriage was not like this, and my own certainly is not. I'd like to think that my wife and I are very prudent in our personal finances -- when we're apart, we spend as little as possible, and we only make large purchases together after much deliberation. (That's sound financial advice, for any newly-married couples that may be reading this!)
My only justification for drawing this was that it's a great pun on the colloquial phrase "give and take", and I just couldn't pass it up. |
