GREAT Summer Camp Registration Information and Process

How to Register

In order to register for the University of Utah GREAT technology camps, please fulfill the following steps:
  1. Choose a camp session: Look at camp descriptions at the "Overview" tab and available dates under the "Dates" tab and pick an appropriate camp and week. Camp topics repeat each week, so please do not register one camper for multiple sessions of the same camp. If you want to check for spaces in the camps, please start the Online registration process as shown in the next step. You will be able to view current enrollments in that system.

  2. Online Registration: Fulfill the online registration and liability waiver process using our online registration (requires credit card).

  3. Paper Registration: For paper check payment, please send in the check, payable to School of Computing, and include the following information: Guardian name and contact information (phone and emails), camper name, age, and gender, emergency contact and desired camp session. Mail check and information to School of Computing, 50 S. Central Campus Drive, 3190 MEB, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT 84112. We cannot guarantee space in a camp until the check arrives - online registration is much preferred.

  4. Logistics: Please review the additional information below about drop-off/pickup and locations.

  5. Manage Your Account: You can manage your account at ActiveNetworks.

These websites have been designed to be informative, accessible, and safe for kids of all ages, and to adhere to all applicable laws and regulations. Children are encouraged to browse our various web pages with their parents in order to find age-appropriate classes.

Our site is not intended for children under 13 to self-register for classes or other activities. Parents or guardians are required to register for any students under age 13. As stated above, all registration information (submitted by parent/guardian) resides on secure servers, and is never sold, rented, or shared with any outside organization or entity.

Cancellations and Transfers

If you need to cancel your registration, a refund, less $10 processing fee, will be given until one week prior to the start date. Due to supply and teacher commitments we cannot offer refunds for cancellations made less than one week before the start date. If space is available, you may transfer to alternate camp week.

The GREAT camp reserves the right to cancel sessions due to insufficient enrollment, in which case a full refund will be made.

If you are responsible for picking-up or dropping-off your child, please do so promptly. The drop-off period is from 8:45-9:00AM each day - after 9, our staff will be busy in the classrooms. The pick-up period is for 10 minutes after the listed end of class. For the 9-3 camps you may drop-off from 8:45-9 and pick-up from 3-3:10.

The main pick-up and drop-off will be on the north side of the Merrill Engineering Building (MEB). At the start and end of the day, campers will collect on the grassy field between the parking lot and the building. Please only pick-up and drop-off campers on the side of the street closest to the sidewalk.

The week before camp starts you will get more detailed information about camp locations, maps, lunches, and policies. Please make sure to share this information with others who may be needing to pickup or dropoff campers.
