She is a practicing witch (wiccan). She wears around her neck a pentagram (5-pointed star inscribed in a circle, with the single point up); a small smooth black rock with a hole through it, on a leather thong; and a small leather pouch with something in it. She generally wears a cloak when the weather is appropriate. It is a heavy cloak of dark green wool lined with dark gray (it is, in fact, reversible, though she usually wears the green side out). It has some very subtle embroidery around the shoulders in silver thread. In the summer she goes barefoot as much as possible, or wears Birkenstock sandals.
If you ask her about her name she'll tell you her mother named her that because she was born on the Vernal Equinox, Sept. 22, and because the family name was "Woods" anyway, her mother thought that sounded cool. If anyone teases or comments on her name Autumn will proudly point out that her name is powerful, because it has meaning and evokes images, whereas most people's names don't mean anything at all. Besides, she thinks it's much more interesting and memorable than some mundane name like "Sarah" or "Becky."
She is a Tolkien fan.
She drives a 1985 Volvo station wagon that may once have been gray or white. Its name is "Stybba."
Around age ten, he started watching tv's In Search Of, which helped to propel his already seeded interest in the paranormal. He read all the books on UFO's and haunted houses he could find. In his teens, he continued to cultivate his interests, not only by reading lots of books, but also by corresponding with people who were active in the field. This led him to meet a JFK conspiracy theorist, who taught him how to do deep research, with local and federal government documents. Chris did quite well in high school, and went to community college where he got an associates degree in electrical engineering.
He transfered to East Tennessee State University after getting his two year degree, and finished up a bachelor's degree in Forensics (and a minor in folklore). Because Chris was most interested in investigating the paranormal, he wasn't very motivated to get a real business-style job. He eventually located to the city (Detroit, right?), where he easily got another CDL license and started driving buses for a local school system.
He only drives the buses in the morning and the rest of the day he spends researching at the library or talking with people. Chris enjoys giving talks to schools and libraries on paranormal subjects. His part-time research gets him work as a personal investigator, when people believe their houses are haunted. People who claim to have had UFO experiences come to him for advice.
When Rick returned to Canada he left the armed forces and went to visit his brother Dan in the US for a while. Dan lives in Harper Woods, Michigan (N of Detroit).
He's shorter than average at 5'5", dirty blond hair which is straight and cut below the ear (eg longish but not really long). He is almost always wearing a baseball cap backwards. He works for a garage where he does both mechanic work and tow truck service (he has his own tow truck, though). He went to tech school and did pretty well but never got higher education beyond that. Talking to him though, he's pretty perceptive even if he "ain't got a lot of book smarts". He's thin and wiry, but doesn't look particularly strong. Goes out to the local bar for beer and darts Friday (and sometimes Saturday) nights. Also has worked on small aircraft some.
