Spain 2002

Vrooommm VW Golf. This is Jamse outside a gas station in our cute little rental car. We had a fun time driving up north and then back to Madrid. We drove around a week before the group got there and visited my family.
La Coruna Beach La Coruņa. This is the city were my grandpa (Weto) is from. You can see the beautiful tide pools, the city and the old Roman light house (on the left ).
Fresnadillo Folk Fresnadillo. The grandest city on earth. Well, not quite a city, so don't believe the rest of it either. This is were my grandma (Weta) is from and this is a picture of (l-r) her sister, James, her goddaughter's daughter, her goddaughter and the goddaughter's husband. They make the best jamon, chorizo and salchichon.
Baahhh Fresnadillo sheep. This is a view of a typical road and a typical scene on the road. If you visit here, watch you step!
El Escorial El Escorial de San Lorenzo (St. Lawrence) This dude was BBQ to death. This is a beautiful palace, monastary, church and library. It houses the tombs of all the Kings and Queens of Spain.
Help! I'm dangling from
the side of the church! Church Chains of Toledo. The city of Toledo, Spain has so much history. This is probably one of the oldest cities in Spain. These chains on a church were hung by the Christians after they regained their freedom. They hung them on the wall to represent their freedom.
Yummy tapas! Tapas. We had a night of delicious tapas (typical Spanish finger food) We ate dinner at a cute restaurant and this pic shows James, Kathy and Melissa McBride and little Doug.
Night Train to France Night train. I loved this thing. What a way to travel! It's so much better than sitting around on a bus and missing all the time during the day. This is James hanging in our cabin of four. He's on the bottom bunk, the top is folded up and there is a sink to the left.
