2.0 Qualifications and Tradeoffs

2.1 Strengths and Qualifications

It is a commercially useful application. We would get to work with an industry sponsor and create a real world project. Java is a simple language, and would allow us to focus on the implementation of the system rather then stumble through VB code.

2.2 Constraints and Special Considerations

On the other hand Java may not stretch our software development skills to new lengths. Some of the team members don't think that there would be much demand for the product, and find little if any interest in it.

3.1 Approach

We will work with the industry sponser in implementing the specifications.

3.2 Implementation Considerations

Depending on how powerfull the handheld is, we may have a small amount of memory and processing power to work with.
