Mirrors
can be done with just using a reflection ray taken by reflecting the viewing
ray across the normal of the object hit. |

Glass
has a refraction ray found by using the index of refraction of the material
hit and continuing the ray through the material at a slightly different
angle. When the ray comes in closer
to the tangent at the point on the surface then it is reflected more than refracted. |
