I've spent most of my life in Kyiv, Ukraine. I speak Russian, Ukrainian, English, and a bit German. I like to spend my time with my beautiful wife Anna and adorable Sophia. Anna never updates her web page. She actually finished her PhD at the University of Utah, and continued her research career as a postdoctoral fellow. Sophia is three now. Boy, she knows how to enjoy life.

Anna and I love to travel more than we can.

We think of skiing as of the reason to live in Utah. Unfortunately, we don't ski much lately. But we take Sophia to Alta almost every weekend. She makes some progress.

The University of Utah's Taekwondo club used to be a surprisingly rare example of a devoted teaching (we had to quit shortly after Sophia was born).

We put Sopia in a skating class, so I learnt how to skate a little bit too.

In a reverse chronological order: Esbjorn Svensson Trio, Avishai Cohen, Nina Simon, Rodrigo y Gabriela. For many years, I was listening to the mainstream jazz music: Davis, Evans, Jarrett, Coltrane.

The list of movies to watch is giant, and yes, I understand it does not make much sense to give any recommendations, but still here are some examples, which I probably name if you ask me: Central Station, Behind the Sun (Walter Salles), Talk to Her (Almodavar), Three Colors: Blue (Krzysztof Kieslowski), White Cat, Black Cat (Emir Kusturica), Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring, The Bow (Kim Ki-duk).

I don't watch movies any more. Sophia takes all my time. I watch Madagascar and Nemo for >20 times. I hate them. I am desperately waiting for cartoons by Hayao Miyazaki, even despite the fact that most of them are still too bloody for a 3 year old.

We used to play a lot of tennis with Anna. We don't have time now.

I use Wilson BLX Six.One 95 16x18. It is a good racquet. I don't know much about tennis, but if you know even less, here is something. You can start learning tennis by watching these videos. You can find more about strings from the stringforum.net. Luxilon Big Banger and Tecnifibre X-One Biphase is a reasonable combination to try.
