Transferring to the University of Utah
Utah State Transfer Articulation
Transfer Students
Students wishing to transfer to the University of Utah are encouraged to meet with the computer science academic advisor as soon as possible in order to ensure a smooth transition to the University of Utah. Please see the degree requirements page for pre-major and major requirements. New majors are accepted for fall semesters only, so those that may be transferring with the pre-major courses completed at another institution should consider a fall start at the University of Utah.
All new transfer students are required to meet with an advisor and attend an orientation session before they can register for their first semester at the University of Utah. For more information about how credits will transfer and when to apply to the University of Utah, please visit the Transfer Center. The Getting Ready Transfer Guide or Utah State Transfer Articulation Guide may also be useful for determining how CS and math/science credits will transfer from other Utah schools.

Admission to the CS major
Transfer students are admitted to the University of Utah as pre-computer science majors and must complete the five pre-major required courses either at the University of Utah or at their transfer institution in order to declare a computer science major.
If a transfer student has already completed the pre-major requirements at another school, he or she may apply to full major status in the computer science major by submitting an online application. New majors are admitted for fall semesters only. Applications are accepted after spring and summer semesters, for a fall start into the major, and may be found here. Final grades required to apply.
