Track 2: Mathematical Biology

There has long been a synergistic relationship between mathematical biology and genetics. Geneticists produce new types of data that challenge mathematical biologists, and mathematical biologists in turn shed light on genomic data by illuminating genome structure and variability. A prime example of the latter is mathematical DNA sequence analysis.

Sample research areas: Evolutionary genetics; gene mapping.

Host departments: Anthropology; Biology; Human Genetics; Mathematics.
