Students will be recruited from two populations. The first is the national pool of students seeking interdisciplinary training in GS. This constituency will be the focus of our external advertising, with special attention to minority and under-represented groups. The second population comprises students who matriculate at the University in GS host departments and are subsequently attracted to GS.
Recruitment efforts will be targeted to students whose profiles and aspirations match the GS program goals better than those of any individual department. The graduate admissions committee of each GS host department will be provided with GS program recruitment materials and encouraged to use them to attract well qualified candidates.
