I should note that I also have a complete, fine-grained port of the
code with somewhat different goals.  (Convert the base code to vanilla
R5RS and move all implementation dependencies to separate files.)
Oleg and I have been talking about merging up, but I've been stalled
because of ICFP.  As soon as I've dug myself out of my current swamp,
I'll get back to this.
