Two things comes to mind:

1.  You can (write) or (display) data to a file output
port and then (read) it in later.  This is a very
simple form of persistence, but doesn't have the
random access performance.

2.  SLib
(http://www-swiss.ai.mit.edu/~jaffer/slib_toc.html)
has packages for "Relational Databases" &
"Weight-balanced Trees".
