USTAR Sensor Networks Tenure Track Faculty Position

The University of Utah's College of Engineering invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the area of sensor networks. The level of appointment (Associate or Full Professor) and salary will be made commensurate with experience. The department where the appointment will be made is flexible but will most likely be in either the School of Computing or the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The position is funded by the Utah Science Technology and Research Economic Development Initiative (USTAR).

The successful applicant will be expected to team with existing faculty members in the College of Engineering to form a world-class sensor networks research laboratory. Relevant existing expertise in the College of Engineering includes: digital, analog, and radio frequency integrated circuits; biological, chemical, mechanical, and micro-electromechanical sensors; networking; operating systems; embedded systems; communications; signal processing; computer architecture; and sensor network information processing algorithms.

Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field and have either a strong potential or demonstrated success for excellence in research, teaching, external funding, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
