CALL FOR PAPERS IEEE Electro/Information Technology Conference June 5-6, 2003, Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S.A. http://www.cis-ieee.org/eit2003 Enabling Worldwide Communication and Progress Utilizing Information Technology Academic, industrial, and government researchers are invited to submit papers reporting both theoretical and applied research in the topic areas listed below. These topics encompass electrical and computer engineering disciplines as they relate to information technology. Please visit the conference Web site for information on announcement, registration, and preliminary program as they become available. The site also includes a Sample Paper under Call For Papers. The keynote speakers for IEEE eit conferences which started in Chicago in 2000 include: Martha Sloan, Michigan Technological University, Mark Smith, Georgia Institute of Technology and Purdue University, Laurence Wolfe, U.S. NIH, Hojjat Adeli, Ohio State University, and Lotfi Zadeh, University of California at Berkeley. Please look at our website for more information about invited speakers. President Elson Floyd, provost Daniel Litynski and dean Michael Atkins of Western Michigan University are among key contributors to these eit conferences. Other panelists will address industrial, government and professional activities as they relate to the field of electro information technology. In addition to paper sessions, there will be plenary sessions, panel discussions, tutorials, exhibits, professional activities track, and workshops. Student papers will be considered, and there will be a poster session for presenting research/project results. Topics of interest include all electrical and computer engineering (hardware/software) aspects of information technology. These topics are broadly divided into four tracks: Information Technology Systems & Applications, Communications, Digital Signal Processing, and Professional Activities. The topics considered for presentation/publication include, but are not limited to, the following: Wireless Communications, Wavelet Transforms, Micro Electromechanical Systems and Mechatronics, Reconfigurable Systems, Middleware Architecture in the IT World, Power Electronics, Electronic Design Automation, Devices, Circuits and Systems, Consumer Electronics (including Automotive), Intelligent Control, Mathematical Modeling, Reliability Issues, Error Reduction, Fuzzy Systems, Neural Networks, Mobile Communications, Digital Image Processing, Multi-Dimensional Signal Processing, Efficient Algorithms, Applications including Telemedicine, Machine Vision, Robotics, and Remote Sensing, Broadband Communication Systems, System Design/Tradeoffs, Optimization, Analysis, Emerging Technologies, Multimedia, DSP/Control Systems, Echo Cancellation and Noise Reduction, Software/Firmware Systems, Infrastructure Technologies, Nanotechnology. SUBMISSION PROCEDURES: Review process will begin by submission of an abstract. Each final submitted manuscript must have no more than 15 pages (including the introduction, body of paper, figures, and references, again see Sample Paper on the conference web site), with 12-point font size, no more than 4 lines per inch. The title of the paper should be followed by author(s) name(s), affiliations; mailing address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address of the primary contact author for the paper. All abstracts/papers will be reviewed by the Program Committee and reviewers. They will be judged with respect to their quality, originality, and relevance. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings (CD ROM) after advance registration of at least one author is received. Selected papers, after review by the program committee, will be considered for publication in the international research journal, INTEGRATED COMPUTER-AIDED ENGINEERING. Both hard copies and electronic form (via e-mail, PDF attachment) of ABSTRACTS should be submitted by NOVEMBER 15, 2002 to conference general chair: Hossein Mousavinezhad hossein.mousavinezhad@ieee.org, ECE Department, Western Michigan University Kalamazoo, MI 49008, Tel. (269) 387-4057, Fax (269) 387-4096 Authors will be notified, by January 17, 2003, of the acceptance status of their abstracts. FULL PAPERS will be due MARCH 7, 2003.
