The Second European Conference on
		Parallel and Distributed Systems (Euro-PDS'98)
				 July 1-3, 1998
				Vienna, Austria

PURPOSE
-------
The Second European Conference on Parallel and Distributed
Systems (Euro-PDS'98) pursues the aim of becoming a major forum
for scientists, engineers and practitioners throughout the world to
present their latest research results, ideas, developments and
applications in all areas of parallel and distributed systems. It will
include keynote addresses, contributed papers, tutorials, panels and
workshops.

The purpose of the Second European Conference on Parallel
and Distributed Systems is to bring together developers and
researchers from universities, industry and government to
advance the field of parallel and distributed computing. The technical
areas of the conference include: Architecture, Distributed Operating Systems,
Distributed and Parallel Databases, Communication Protocols, Mobile Computing,
Distributed Multimedia, Distributed Real-Time Systems, Distributed Algorithms
and Languages, Tools and Software Engineering, Distributed Resource Management
and Scheduling, Fault Tolerance, Availability, Scalability, Interoperability
and Security, Performance of Parallel and Distributed Systems.

A Web site located at http://www.iasted.com provides the latest information
on Euro-PDS'98.

LOCATION
--------
Vienna is old - Vienna is new! Vienna has 1.8 million
inhabitants -- a metropolis with an imperial past, it is now a center of
commerce with dynamic flair, a focal point in a new Europe. Vienna is
easily accessible, offering an abundance of cultural highlights and
culinary delights as well as exquisite shopping opportunities.

Vienna is the capital of Austria, home to many important sights
and international centers. It is located in the center of Europe
and has traditionally been a bridge between the east and the west.

The main landmarks of Vienna consist of St. Stephan's Cathedral at
the heart of the city, the Opera House, and the Palaces of Shoenbrunn and
Belvedere. The city is also home to many museums. The Fine Arts Museum
houses the largest collection of Breugels. The State Opera and
the Vienna Philharmonic are world-famous.
