Professor Kirby joined the faculty in 2002. His
research focus is on large-scale scientific computation and
visualization, with an emphasis on the scientific cycle of
mathematical modeling, computation, visualization, evaluation, and
understanding. His primary research interests include computational
science and engineering, high-order numerical methods, concurrent
programming, scientific visualization, and high performance
computing.
