Professor Berzins joined the faculty in 2003. His research
area is the study of novel computational algorithms for the numerical
solution of partial differential equations on both serial and parallal
computers. In particular, his interests are in devising new adaptive
mesh algorithms, exploiting new parallel computing techniques to reduce
computing times, and to investigate novel applications in the areas of
environmental and other complex systems.
