Professor Zachary
joined the Department in 1987. He is interested in finding ways to
use computers in teaching science and engineering in general, and
computer science in particular. He is currently developing Web-based
tools and curricula for teaching introductory programming and computer
science courses. Professor Zachary received the University of Utah
Distinguished Teaching Award in 1997, was named a Department of Energy
Undergraduate Computational Science Education Award winner in 1996,
was a University of Utah Presidential Teaching Scholar in 1995, and
received the College of Engineering Outstanding Teaching Award in
1990.
