Undergraduate Financial Assistance

The Department of Computer Science has several financial assistance awards available. Applications may be picked up from the Academic Counselor in the Department of Computer Science office. These scholarships are awarded based upon academic performance, rather than financial need. The following scholarships are available. All applications must be submitted to the CS departmental office by March 15.

Continuing Student Scholarship.
These awards are available to students majoring in Computer Scince and who are residents of the state of Utah. They are for resident tuition for two semesters. It is expected that there will be three awards available each year. To be eligible, students must take at least 12 credit hours per semester.

College of Engineering Scholarships.
A few awards are available each year to Computer Science majors. These are unrestricted cash awards of $500 to $2,000. To be eligible, students must take at least 8 credit hours per semester. Use the same application as for the Continuing Student Scholarship.

Department of Computer Science Scholarships.
These scholarships are awarded on the basis of excellence to students majoring in Computer Science or in Computer Engineering. These awards are unrestricted cash awards of $500 to $2000. To be eligible, students must take at least 8 credit hours per semester. Use the same application as for the Continuing Student Scholarship.

Students may also apply for financial aid from the College of Engineering, which each year awards about 25 Josephine Beam Educational Scholarships. These scholarships are worth approximately $500 and are based upon need. Obtain an application form from the Office of the Dean of Engineering in Kennecott 214. Applications must be submitted by February 15.
