- Oversee the graduate curriculum and make timely
recommendations to the faculty on its findings.
- Execute the departmental graduate policy on admissions
and financial support.
- Make teaching assistantship assignments.
- Monitor the progress of all graduate students in the
Department. This monitoring will be routinely performed using annual
progress reports from students and their advisors. The advisor of a
student whose progress is questionable will be invited to meet with the
Committee for the relevant discussions. Appropriate actions according to
accepted departmental guidelines will follow the student reviewing process.
- Recruit new graduate students.
During 1995--96, the Committee consists of Professors Gary
Lindstrom (chair), Ellen
