Abstract
In this talk, I will describe two new computer art tools that I have
had a hand in creating. These tools are not wild improvisations on the
fringe of the usable; rather, they revisit core graphics technologies
to address specific deficiencies or leverage new insights. First, I
will discuss a program that allows users to paint with edges instead
of colors [1]. Next I will describe two new methods for stacking image
elements locally [2,3]. I will conclude by discussing future projects
that continue this trajectory of reform.
