Abstract
Disney Research, a relatively new but fast-growing organization at the
Walt Disney Company, has standalone labs co-located with CMU and ETH
Zurich, as well as teams tied to Imagineering, Disney Animation and
other existing businesses. Its research agenda seeks innovation with
impact on all four of Disney's business units, with the majority of
activity currently directed at motion pictures, park attractions, games
& sports, and media networks. We will discuss several research topics
and touch on promising directions for future research in digital arts,
experiential media systems, creative environments, and emerging media
technologies.
