• Course Description:

  The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the mathematical and algorithmic concepts of spectral methods.

Some of the topics to be discussed are the following:
 - Interpolation
 - Method of weighted residuals
 - Quadrature
 - Fourier methods for solving 1d and 2d periodic PDE problems
 - Spectral element methods for solving 1d and 2d non-periodic PDE problems
